The Denver Broncos might be the underdogs in Sunday’s AFC Championship Game, but they are the clear favorites when it comes to trash talk.

Tuesday has presented a rash of trash talking from the Mile High City. First, it was Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall, who said New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski “pushes off” when running his routes. Defensive end Antonio Smith then upped the ante, agreeing with the assessment Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is a “crybaby.”

Broncos defensive end Malik Jackson then doubled down in an interview with Pro Football Talk, calling Brady a “whiner,” who “definitely throws temper tantrums.”

Those words, you could say, are fighting words.

Brady and the Patriots will have their chance to fire back Wednesday when they have full media availability, but it’s probably safe to assume they’ll keep their mouths shut, if the past is any indication. The Patriots, historically speaking, have let their playing do the talking.
