At 15-1, the Carolina Panthers had the best record in the NFL this season. Yet, when they take the field Feb. 7 in Super Bowl 50, they’ll be the designated away team.

Instead, the AFC Champion Denver Broncos will be the home team for Super Bowl 50, according to the media guide released by the NFL on Thursday. Denver will wear white home jerseys with navy numbers and orange trim for the game. Carolina will wear black jerseys with white numbers and blue trim.

Oddly enough, the Broncos wore their orange jerseys at home throughout the 2015 playoffs, while the Panthers wore their customary whites. In other words, no one is getting the comfort of wearing a lucky jersey.

Designated home and away teams swap back-and-forth between conferences each year. Interestingly enough, Manning’s teams are 0-2 in the Super Bowl when playing as the designated home team and 1-0 as the away team.

Super Bowl 50 will be held in Santa Clara, Calif. at Levi’s Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49ers.
