The Kansas City Chiefs might have dodged a bullet.

The team lost its top wide receiver in the third quarter of Saturday’s 30-0 wild card win over the Houston Texans when Jeremy Maclin went down with what was feared to be an ACL tear. But the Chiefs announced Sunday that MRIs showed Maclin had an ankle sprain.

Kansas City said Maclin is day to day, so his status for the Chiefs’ upcoming AFC Divisional Playoff against the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium on Saturday is uncertain.

The Texans held Maclin to just 29 yards on three receptions before his exit. However, the 27-year-old racked up 1,088 yards and eight touchdowns in his first regular season with the Chiefs.
