Justin Bieber’s Tweet Just Got Clippers’ Chris Paul Tons Of NBA All-Star Votes

To say Justin Bieber spreads his sports allegiances paper-thin would be an understatement.

The Canadian pop star hails from just outside Toronto, the site of this season’s NBA All-Star game. Yet Bieber has been known to support any number of NBA clubs, and he turned his attention to Hollywood on Thursday to throw his considerable influence behind Los Angeles Clippers point guard Chris Paul.

Why is this a big deal? Because retweets also count as All-Star votes, meaning Bieber’s two simple tweets garnered Paul more than 60,000 votes in less than 24 hours.

The Clippers veteran still has a long way to go if he wants to start for the Western Conference squad, as guards Stephen Curry (925,789 votes) and Russell Westbrook (479,512 votes) still were well ahead of the third-place Paul (268,672 votes) as of Thursday.

But an endorsement from the Biebs almost ensures Paul will be playing in Toronto, and the Clippers didn’t think it was too late Thursday night to thank the pop star.

Bieber has yet to show any love for potential Raptors All-Stars DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry — who got Bieber’s support last season — but voting is open until Jan. 18, so you can never say never.
