Ken Griffey Jr. reacted to his call from the Baseball Writers’ Association of America informing him of his National Baseball Hall of Fame election like a man who already knew his fate.
Griffey, unsurprisingly, was among two players (Mike Piazza was the other) elected to the class of 2016. He also made history by receiving a record 99.32 percent of the vote. Just three voters left him off their ballot.
Upon hearing this historic feat, Griffey said, “OK, now I’m a little nervous, now,” as his family cheered in the background.
