Ken Griffey Jr. poured on the nostalgia Thursday during his Hall of Fame press conference, in which he announced he’d be enshrined in a Seattle Mariners baseball cap.

After receiving his Hall of Fame jersey and hat, he immediately flipped the hat backwards, because obviously.

For what it’s worth, Junior didn’t take all the credit for the backwards hat thing. After all, he is going in with catcher Mike Piazza.

Major League Baseball and the Hall both seem to think donning the backwards hat on Griffey’s plaque would be a good idea, too (and we agree). It would be a fitting and unique end to a unique career.
