DeMarcus Cousins is making waves across the NBA world, and Kanye West is doing the same across the rap industry. So, why not combine the two?

That’s likely what the Sacramento Kings had in mind Wednesday in a clever pitch for their dominant big man. Shortly after West used Twitter to promote his upcoming album, “Waves” (and directed a series of hostile tweets toward rapper Wiz Khalifa, which he later deleted), the Kings followed suit with their own promotion of Cousins for the 2016 NBA All-Star Game.

Well played, Sacramento.

Of course, the Kings have a point, as Cousins has been absolutely on fire of late. The 25-year-old exploded for 104 combined points in two games Saturday and Monday and is averaging 27.7 points per game, behind only Stephen Curry and James Harden for best in the NBA.

Cousins didn’t get the glory of being named a starter for the Western Conference All-Stars, as Kevin Durant and Kawhi Leonard make up the West’s starting frontcourt. But it’s almost a guarantee that Boogie will earn a spot when the reserves are announced Thursday, so expect to see him under the flashing lights in Toronto come Feb. 14.
