Will Ferrell will make separating Hollywood from Los Angeles Football Club nearly impossible when the expansion team begins playing in Major League Soccer in 2016.

LAFC revealed its crest and colors and Ferrell as one of its new co-owners Thursday at an unveiling ceremony in Los Angeles. Ferrell becomes the 26th member of LAFC’s star-studded ownership group, which also includes the Garciaparras and Magic Johnson.

Ferrell predictably drew laughs with his behavior and comments.

Los Angeles FC will be Ferrell’s first meaningful foray into the soccer world since he starred in a notable 2005 film.

Ferrell instantly will become the funniest owner in MLS. Drew Carey, who owns part of the Seattle Sounders, ranks second on the league’s list of funniest boardroom dwellers.

Black and Gold will dominate Los Angeles’ colors.

The expansion team will begin play in 2018.
