MLS Releases 2016 Regular Season Schedule; Revolution Open On March 6

The start of the New England Revolution’s pursuit of Major League Soccer glory is right around the corner.

MLS on Thursday released the 2016 regular-season schedule for all 20 teams.

The Revolution announced in a statement they’ll kick off their 34-game, regular-season slate on March 6 against he Houston Dynamo at BBVA Compass Stadium.

Gillette Stadium will host the first of 17 home games on March 12 when D.C. United visits the Revolution. Reigning Supporters’ Shield winner New York Red Bulls will make their only trip to Gillette on April 1. MLS Cup champions Portland Timbers visit on April 27.

The Revolution will conclude their regular season schedule against the Montreal Impact on Oct. 23.

Jay Heaps’ team hopes to be gearing up for a deep run in the MLS Cup playoffs by then.
