Tom from Myspace took a breather from friend-requesting everyone Tuesday to propose an idea.
Tom Anderson, the co-founder of Myspace who’s commonly known as everyone’s first friend on the social network, really wants the San Francisco Giants to re-sign pitcher Tim Lincecum, apparently.
Can we keep @timLincecum if I pay for it? #6manrotation ! @sfgiants @knbr @extrabaggs @mccoveychron pic.twitter.com/tQG2jmG0Mt

Offering to pay for Lincecum’s contract is bold, though the tab might not be too hefty, given the right-hander’s recent track record. He posted a 7-4 record, a 4.13 ERA and a career-worst 1.58 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 15 starts last season, providing more evidence he’s no longer the pitcher who won back-to-back National League Cy Young awards in 2008 and 2009.
But hey, it’s Tom’s money. And if he wants to party like it’s 2008, when Myspace was slightly more relevant than it is now, then so be it.
Whatever keeps him from clogging up everyone’s inbox.
