Green Bay Packers quarterback and NFL MVP candidate Aaron Rodgers recently underwent a minor knee procedure, per ESPN’s Jason Wilde and Rob Demovsky.

The surgery was a “cleanup of an old injury,” Wilde and Demovsky reported, citing a source.

Rodgers, and the Packers as a whole, endured a difficult 2015 season. Jordy Nelson, the team’s No. 1 wide receiver, went down for the season in August after suffering a torn ACL. Injuries to other key players and poor play calling were among the other factors for Green Bay’s struggles.

The Packers still finished the season 10-6 to earn a wild-card playoff berth. They defeated the Washington Redskins to advance to the divisional round, where they lost to the Arizona Cardinals despite Rodgers’ pair of dramatic Hail Mary passes on the final drive of regulation.

Rodgers threw for 3,821 yards with 31 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 16 regular-season games.
