FOXBORO, Mass. — New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski said Thursday he was just having fun with the tweet he posted Tuesday in response to the Denver Broncos saying the best way to tackle him is going low.

He wasn’t surprised with the attention it drew, though.

“No, I was just having a little fun with it, hoping to get a little laughs, which I think it did,” Gronkowski said before practice at Gillette Stadium. “It’s just all fun and games with that.”

Here’s the NSFW-ish tweet in question.

Gronkowski also was asked if he feels the Broncos have been taunting him with some of the things they have said in the media. He doesn’t think so.

“(Tackling low is) just part of the game,” Gronk said. “They’re not doing anything illegal out there. It’s just part of the game. I’ve just got to be aware of it. Maybe just got to step up my game a little bit. Maybe throw a juke, I mean I don’t know how many jukes I’ve got, but I’ve just got to be aware for it. It’s football and it’s just part of the game.”
