Rajon Rondo’s Half-Hearted Attempt To Trip Deron Williams Fails (Video)

Rajon Rondo must have known Deron Williams might bury his Sacramento Kings. Why else would Rondo try to stop Williams by any means necessary?

Rondo was stationed firmly in the Kings’ bench area Tuesday when he appeared to attempt to trip Williams during the Mavs’ double-overtime victory over Sacramento on Tuesday in Dallas. Williams was pump-faking in an effort to elude Seth Curry when Rondo sneakily flicked his leg in his direction. Rondo’s effort missed its mark, but the Internet captured his half-hearted effort, nonetheless.

Rondo sat out the game due to back soreness. His absence spared him from the Mavericks fans’ wrath in his return to the city in which he endured a failed stint last season.

Whether Rondo was being playful or sinister toward Williams is beside the point. Williams was on his game, as he demonstrated in the second overtime period.
