All signs were pointing toward Marshawn Lynch returning for the Seattle Seahawks’ NFC Wild Card Game against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, but some late breaking news Friday night changed that.

Lynch has been downgraded to out for Sunday’s game, according to ESPN’s Sheil Kapadia. Lynch, who has been out with an abdomen injury since November, was a full participant in practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but Kapadia reports Lynch “felt like he couldn’t play” after Friday’s practice.

The decision apparently came at the last second, as Lynch told the Seahawks he couldn’t play right before the team got on the plane to Minnesota, according to FOX Sports’ Mike Garafolo.

Lynch, who hasn’t played since Nov. 15, has rushed for 417 yards on 111 attempts with three touchdowns in seven games this season. Christine Michael has gotten the majority of playing time in the backfield down the stretch.
