Could Peyton Manning land with the Tennessee Titans organization once he hangs up the cleats?

Manning obviously is focused on the Denver Broncos’ upcoming AFC Championship Game against the New England Patriots, but according to FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer, the quarterback’s name is being tossed around in connection with the Titans’ next ownership group.

“There is a push inside the league to have him part of an ownership group with the Tennessee Titans,” Glazer reported Sunday before the Broncos’ divisional round win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Manning played college football at the University of Tennessee and he’s also part-owner of the NBA’s Memphis Grizzles, so it’s not that crazy he’s being mentioned with regard to the Titans, whose majority owner, Amy Adams Strunk, skipped last week’s NFL owners meetings in Houston.

Perhaps the bigger question right now is whether Manning feels like these are the final days of his playing career. The 39-year-old is under contract with the Broncos for one more season and hasn’t said whether he plans to retire after this season, though he recently acknowledged it’s a consideration.
