Loui Eriksson is an unrestricted free agent after the 2015-16 season, but the Bruins and the right wing reportedly are beginning to discuss optionsĀ that would keep him in Boston beyond this year.

Eriksson and the Bruins are engaging in preliminary contract discussions, according to ESPN’s Pierre LeBrun and TSN’sĀ Darren Dreger, which is hardly surprising with the year he is having.

The winger is on track to have his best season with the Bruins, as he already has matched his 2013-14 total of 37 points. He is second on the team in points (37), third in goals (15) and tied for third in assists (22). The 30-year-oldĀ also is a plus-9, which is tied for third-best on the team.
