New England Patriots wide receiver Keshawn Martin received some good news before his team’s AFC Divisional Playoff game.
Martin on Saturday signed a two-year contract extension with the Patriots, per the NFL’s transaction wire. The deal is worth $3 million, ESPN’s Field Yates reported Saturday morning, citing a source.
The Boston Globe’s Ben Volin later reported additional details about the wideout’s new deal.
Martin, the Houston Texans’ fourth-round pick in 2012, is in his first season with the Patriots. He’s seen action in nine games for New England, catching 24 passes for 269 yards and two touchdowns.
The 25-year-old’s most productive performance came in Week 16, when he caught seven balls for 68 yards and was targeted 11 times in an overtime loss to the New York Jets.
The Patriots host the Kansas City Chiefs at 4:35 p.m. ET Saturday with a trip to the AFC Championship Game on the line.
