If Peyton Manning can’t get past the New England Patriots on Sunday, at least he’ll have something to drown his sorrows.
Sons of Liberty Spirits, a Rhode Island-based company, is trying to get some of its product to Manning, but it’s doing so in an innovative way. After Manning cracked a joke about Bud Light in a postgame news conference last season, Sons of Liberty tried to send Manning something a little stronger. The company doesn’t think Manning ever got the bottle of whiskey, though, so it’s trying a different strategy this time around.
Sons of Liberty again is sending a bottle Manning’s way, but in order to make sure it gets in the Denver Broncos quarterback’s hands, it’s addressing it to Manning’s wife, Ashley. It’s an obvious dig at the quarterback, given the Al-Jazeera story that linked the Manning family and HGH through the Guyer Institute.
According to that story, HGH was repeatedly sent to Ashley Manning — not Peyton. So Sons of Liberty is addressing the bottle to her.
