It’s the NFL. It’s the AFC Championship Game. It’s Tom Brady versus Peyton Manning.

Who else would Sports Illustrated feature on its cover?

Brady and Manning will square off for the 17th time Sunday when the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos meet with a trip to Super Bowl 50 on the line. SI honored the quarterbacks’ epic rivalry on this week’s cover, dubbing the upcoming matchup “The Last Tango.”

Sunday could mark the final time Brady, 38, and Manning, 39, go toe to toe. Brady still is playing at a very high level, but injuries and inconsistency have plagued Manning’s season, creating a sense that the Broncos QB might ride off into the sunset whenever Denver’s campaign wraps up.

In other words, cherish Sunday’s matchup. There’s a lot more to the game — both defenses have their strengths — but the Brady-Manning storyline remains special, nonetheless.

SI’s cover also is much more flattering than what the New York Daily News ran Monday.
