The son of a former New England Patriots great will be catching passes at North Carolina State next season.

Thaddeus Moss, a four-star tight end recruit and the son of surefire Hall of Famer Randy Moss, on Saturday committed to take his talents to the Wolfpack.

“It just felt right,” the younger Moss told ESPN.com. “It’s close to home, it felt right, and they kept it real with me from day one. NC State was the first team to offer, and loyalty was rewarded.”

Randy Moss starred as a wide receiver at Marshall before beginning a 14-year NFL career that included seven Pro Bowl selections and four All-Pro nods. His son also considered Texas A&M before making his final decision.

“For the most part, he really let me go about the process on my own,” Thaddeus Moss told ESPN.com. “I asked for his opinion and for him to sit down with the coaches and talk, but I asked for that these last few weeks. He voiced his opinion, and we had in-depth conversations about what was best for me and what was best for the family.”
