Tony Romo Look-Alike Crashes AFC Championship, Sparking Internet Buzz

A lot of football fans probably did a double take during Sunday’s AFC Championship Game between the Denver Broncos and New England Patriots.

A generic shot of the crowd at Sports Authority Field at Mile High created some buzz on the Internet because one of the fans shown looked just like Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.

Obviously, it wasn’t Romo, who reportedly will undergo offseason surgery on his collarbone. But it was as if the fan was going for a spot-on impression. And the Romo doppelganger trying to not spill his beer — while still looking like Romo, of course — only added to the hilarity.

Admittedly, the whole thing’s a bit weird. After all, this gentleman (wearing the blue Broncos hat above) was on the screen for just a couple of seconds, yet Twitter went bananas. That’s how the Internet works nowadays, though, especially with regard to Romo, who’s so often the butt of jokes.
