If you’re planning on attending Sunday’s NFL Wild Card Game matchup between the Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks, you better dress warm. Like, covered in every single sweatshirt, jacket and blanket you can find.
Actually, on second thought, you might wanna just skip the game altogether.
The Vikings will host the Seahawks in what’s expected to be one of the coldest football games in NFL history. As of Wednesday afternoon, the forecast for Sunday in Minneapolis calls for cloudy skies and a high of 1 degree. One.
That doesn’t even factor in the winds, which are expected to blow at 10 to 15 mph. Even more daunting, the temperature is supposed to drop as the day goes on with an eventual overnight low of 9-below zero, according to The Weather Channel.
At least it’s not supposed to snow?
Again, if you’re a fan who has tickets, you might want to rethink. At the very least, maybe you should skip any and all tailgate opportunities.
As the Minneapolis Star Tribune points out, the coldest game in Vikings home history came in 1972 when the Vikings hosted the Chicago Bears when the temperature was 2-below zero.
