Was Drew Storen Literally Doing ‘Netflix And Chill’ When Nats Traded Him To Blue Jays?

What Drew Storen actually was doing when the Washington Nationals traded him to the Toronto Blue Jays last week is irrelevant. How Storen describes his phone call with Nationals General Manager Mike Rizzo will live on Internet baseball lore.

According to CBS Washington’s Chris Lingebach, Storen says he was participating in some “Netflix and chill” — a favorite activity among postmodern lovers — when Rizzo called on Jan. 8 to tell him he had been traded to the Blue Jays.

Laugh away now because Storen might not have been doing what everyone thinks.

Three days prior to Storen’s interview on CBS Washington radio, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet revealed Storen really was watching hit show “Making a Murderer” on Netflix that night.

Whether Storen simply flubbed the popular phrase, “Netflix and chill,” or he was being intimate with his wife at the time of Rizzo’s call is unclear. After all, Storen is 28 years old — a time in one’s life when the latest slang grows more elusive by the day.
