The Alamo Bowl was supposed to be Trevone Boykin’s final game in a TCU uniform, but that all changed this week when he was arrested for allegedly assaulting a police officer after a bar fight. Boykin since has been suspended, meaning the senior’s TCU career is over.
Horned Frogs coach Gary Patterson hasn’t named a new starting quarterback for Saturday’s Alamo Bowl against No. 15 Oregon. The Ducks, however, know Vernon Adams Jr. will be under center for them against the No. 11 Horned Frogs (10-2). Adams Jr., a transfer from Eastern Washington, had a slow start to the season, but he helped Oregon (9-3) finish the year strong with six straight wins.
