Lane Kiffin made an announcement Sunday regarding his marriage to his wife, Layla.
The Alabama offensive coordinator told FOX Sports’ Bruce Feldman on Sunday that the couple is seeking a divorce.
“After a lot of careful thought and consideration, Layla and I have mutually decided to divorce,” Kiffin told Feldman. “We are fully committed to our kids’ future being our No. 1 priority. We will maintain an amicable relationship with respect for each other as we raise these three wonderful children. We will have no further comments and appreciate respect for our family’s privacy.”
Kiffin is coming off a national championship at Alabama. The 40-year-old also is a former head coach for Tennessee, USC and the Oakland Raiders.
Layla Kiffin first captured football fans’ attention when she appeared alongside Lane at the 2008 press conference announcing his hire at Tennessee.
