Cam Newton has a chance to join a distinguished group Sunday that even Tom Brady isn’t part of.

The Carolina Panthers quarterback was named the Associated Press Most Valuable Player on Saturday at “NFL Honors,” which means the best player in the league will be playing in the Super Bowl.

All-time greats like Brady, Joe Montana, Terry Bradshaw and Bart Starr have won the NFL MVP and played in the Super Bowl during the same season. And, while Brady has won four Super Bowls and two MVPs, he’s never won both in the same season.
