Marcus Smart didn’t quite take over for Team USA in the BBVA Rising Stars Challenge. In fact, he went relatively unnoticed.

Still, the Boston Celtics guard was a solid contributor in his first NBA All-Star Weekend event in Toronto.

The second-year combo guard started for Team USA and tallied three points in a poor shooting performance (1 for 8). He added four rebounds and five assists, though, and earned a 157-154 win over Team World. His three points were the first scored in the game for either side.

Smart decided not to push too hard during the exhibition game, which was probably a smart decision given his injury history. Still, he seemed to really enjoy the experience.

For what it’s worth, though, he did drain this half court 3-pointer before the game.

Not a bad start to All-Star Weekend.
