The Los Angeles Clippers seem like an odd bunch.

When their star players aren’t waffling about leaving in free agency or punching team staff members and breaking their hands, the Clips apparently have an affinity for dramatic arts.

All the world’s a stage, after all, and the Clippers took their act to Boston on Wednesday night for what ended up being one of the most entertaining NBA games all season. It’s what the Clippers did before the game that was odd, to say the very least.

As was expected, Los Angeles swingman Paul Pierce got a tremendous ovation in his return to Boston, as he always does. Pierce was introduced last, and after the intros were complete, the Clippers came together for a pregame huddle. It was at that point DeAndre Jordan appeared to mimic stabbing Pierce. The rest of the team then followed in a very, very weird scene.

What makes it even weirder, of course, is Pierce’s history. The former Celtics captain was stabbed 11 times in a Boston bar back in 2000.
