At just 37 years old, Adam Gase is one of the more promising up-and-coming head coaches in the NFL. But Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross might want to pump the brakes a little on his praise for him.

Ross touched on everything from concussions to the future of soccer during a presentation to the Palm Beach Civic Association on Monday, according to the Palm Beach Post. But by far the most newsworthy thing he had to say was about Gase and his potential as an NFL head coach.

“Instead of getting a retread that really hasn’t had a great track record as head coach, I was looking for somebody that really could be the next, if you will, Bill Belichick, Bill Parcells, you know, really great head coach, and I think we got one,” Ross said, via the Palm Beach Post.

No pressure, Adam. You might just be the next Belichick or Parcells, aka one of the greatest coaches of all time. But if things don’t work out pretty quickly, the next Parcells or Belichick might be looking for a new job.

“After three years, if we haven’t made the playoffs, we’re looking for a new coach,” Ross said of the recent shelf lives of NFL head coaches. “That’s just the way it is. The fans want it.”

Like we said — no pressure, Adam.
