Donald Trump Dumps On Patriots’ O-Line For Not Protecting Tom Brady

Donald Trump didn’t like seeing his buddy get knocked around in the AFC Championship Game.

Trump, who’s made it perfectly clear he’s good friends with Tom Brady, took a shot at the New England Patriots’ offensive line Wednesday during an appearance on Boston Herald Radio. The Republican presidential candidate was asked if he would lobby for Brady to campaign for him in New Hampshire, but the conversation spiraled into Trump criticizing the way the Patriots quarterback was protected — or not protected — a couple of weeks ago against the Denver Broncos.

“I think he would if I asked him to. I don’t know if I want to ask him to do that, you know. Right now he doesn’t feel so great because of what happened (in the AFC Championship),” Trump said. “He was really mauled. I’ll tell you the offensive line was not exactly giving him lots of protection, unfortunately.”

Of course, a New England-centric Trump interview wouldn’t be complete without him throwing all sorts of praise Brady’s way. Trump has really turned complimenting Brady into an art form these days.

“He is the finest guy. He not only is a great athlete, a great quarterback, but he is a fine person,” Trump said of Brady. “A great guy. New England, the whole area there, they are very lucky to have Tom.”

Maybe Trump can focus on making the Patriots’ offensive line great again if the whole presidential thing doesn’t work out. His friend could use the help.
