Jae Crowder isn’t the first member of his family to play in the NBA, and the Utah Jazz gave him an awesome reminder of that Friday.

The Boston Celtics swingman’s father, Corey Crowder, had a brief NBA career that began in 1991 with the Jazz. He played one season with the club before going on to play overseas and in the CBA (Continental Basketball Association).

Before the Celtics’ game in Utah, the Jazz’s public relations team hooked Jae up with a really cool gift — a pair of sneakers worn by Corey during his days in Utah.

Not only are those fantastic shoes, but it’s a pretty great move by the Jazz to track them down and give them to Crowder, who clearly was pretty pumped about the gift.

That cool moment won’t be the only “reunion” in Utah on Friday, as Celtics coach Brad Stevens will face off against two of his former Butler players in Jazz forward Gordon Hayward and recently added guard Shelvin Mack.
