SAN FRANCISCO — There’s always two sides to a story, and that includes Adam Vinatieri’s historic game-winning kick in Super Bowl XXXVI.
That kick lifted the New England Patriots to their first Super Bowl win, but it also provided heartbreak on the St. Louis Rams’ sideline.
However, former Rams quarterback Kurt Warner now looks back on that game with some appreciation, even if the result wasn’t what he wanted.
“(It was) a great game. It was the first Super Bowl ever that came down to a kick on the last play of the game to determine who won the Super Bowl,” Warner told NESN.com’s Michaela Vernava on Thursday on Super Bowl Radio Row.
“I’m just so fortunate — yes, I would have loved to have won that one and the last one I played in — but all three Super Bowls I played in were great games that were determined by great players making big plays at big moments.”
