Toronto Maple Leafs forward Leo Komarov could be facing a suspension from the NHL after elbowing New York Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonagh in the head during Wednesday night’s game at the Air Canada Centre.

The play happened late in the first period and resulted in Komarov being ejected from the game.

Rangers defenseman Kevin Klein immediately went after Komarov, but a fight did not ensue.

McDonagh, who didn’t return to the game for precautionary reasons, recently returned to New York’s lineup after missing several games with a concussion. The Rangers have not announced if he suffered another one from this play.
