LFC Advances In Europa League On James Milner’s Penalty Kick Vs. Augsburg

Liverpool progressed to the last 16 of the UEFA Europa League by beating Augsburg 1-0 in the second leg of their series at Anfield on Thursday.

James Milner’s fifth-minute penalty kick edged the Reds ahead on aggregate following the goal-less draw in Germany a week ago and proved enough to ensure inclusion in Friday’s draw for the next round.

The result — and a third consecutive shutout — also means Jurgen Klopp’s team can now begin preparations for Sunday’s Capital One Cup final against Manchester City at Wembley in positive mood.
