Mets Manager Terry Collins Not A Fan Of Yoenis Cespedes’ Backward Hat Look

In the latest sign that we need baseball season to hurry up and actually start, here’s a story about how a player wears his hat.

New York Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes already has made news this spring. The All-Star’s morning arrival has become must-see stuff, as he has come to work every day driving a different (not to mention very expensive) car.

Let’s add another relatively meaningless thing to the list, shall we? Mets manager Terry Collins apparently has an issue with how Cespedes wears his hat backward on occasion. Collins, per the New York Post’s Mike Puma, plans on having a little chit-chat with Cespedes about it, too.

Cespedes has the reputation for being an old-school kind of manager, but he’s also one of the most respected men in the game. That being said, quibbling over the way someone — especially someone whom the team just signed to a $75 million contract — wears his hat is a bit odd, to say the least. Especially if Cespedes posts a .942 OPS like he did after the Mets acquired him last season.
