Mike Condon Makes Ridiculous, No-Look ‘Elbow Save’ Vs. Capitals (Video)

The bright spots have been few and far between this season for the Montreal Canadiens, but one player who has done a nice job is goaltender Mike Condon.

The Massachusetts native has been forced to step in and assume responsibility as the starter in wake of Carey Price’s injury. Condon has been pretty good for the most of the season and shown the ability to make the highlight save.

Condon displayed that on a big stage during the NHL Winter Classic against the Boston Bruins, but his best stop this season came Wednesday night against the Washington Capitals.

Mike Richards probably thought he had a sure-thing goal. The Caps forward jumped on a loose puck in front of the net with Condon a little out of position. Much to the disbelief of pretty everyone, especially Richards, Condon somehow quickly went left to right and made a ridiculous, no-look “elbow save.”

Pretty crazy, right? Then again, it’s not the first time this season that Condon has made an eye-popping behind-the-back save.

Condon’s efforts didn’t go for naught, either. The Canadiens held on for a surprising 4-3 win over the NHL’s best team.
