Mike Pereira: Types Of Referee Mistakes In 2015 Shouldn’t Happen At NFL Level

SAN FRANCISCO — NFL officiating was a major storyline just about every week this season.

Whether it was missed penalties, confusion during coin tosses or a lack of consistency when ruling what is a catch and what isn’t, the fan experience certainly was hurt by what seemed to be an increase in bad calls, or at least an uptick in noticeable ones.

Former vice president of NFL officiating Mike Pereira spoke with NESN.com’s Michaela Vernava on Super Bowl Radio Row on Thursday and said he’s glad he’s not working in that role anymore.

“I wouldn’t have wanted to be that person this year,” Pereira said. “They had a lot of issues that went on in officiating. I’m glad to be the former (VP of officiating).”

Pereira had many additional thoughts on this season’s officiating, so check out the video above for more, and be sure to watch the full interview on NESN.com’s YouTube page.
