Patience finally paid off for the Boston Bruins in 2011.
Young homegrown talent meshed perfectly with a grizzly group of veterans, and Lord Stanley’s Cup found its way back to Boston for the first time in 39 years. For then-Bruins winger Milan Lucic, it was the pinnacle of his young hockey career.
The group made its way back to the Cup Final in 2013 before ultimately losing to the Chicago Blackhawks, but that short era of dominance in Bruins lore isn’t one fans in Boston soon will forget.
Lucic, one of the key members of those teams, sat down with NESN’s Jack Edwards prior to his return to TD Garden on Tuesday for the first time since being traded to the Los Angeles Kings last summer. The two reminisced about those glory days and how special it is being a Bruin.
