NBA Trade Rumors: Rockets Could Move Dwight Howard Before Deadline; Heat A Suitor

If the latest Dwight Howard trade rumors come true, the big man could be headed back to the Sunshine State.

Frank Isola of the New York Daily News reported Monday that it’s possible the Houston Rockets will move the big man before Thursday’s NBA trade deadline.

That’s not entirely surprising, given how many rumors have circulated regarding Howard. It’s possible, Isola reported, that Howard could end up in Miami. According to Isola, the Heat and Rockets are talking about a trade that would send Howard to the Heat, and it’s believed Miami big man Hassan Whiteside also would be involved. Isola offered no other specifics, but any sort of detail obviously would involve even more players, given the salary-cap differences between Howard and Whiteside.

Again, it’s not surprising to hear Howard’s name continue to pop up in trade talks. The Rockets reportedly are shopping him around the league, and there’s been no shortage of reported interest. In addition to the Heat, Howard has been tied to the Celtics, although that’s been labeled as “unlikely” by The Boston Globe.
