Patriots drafted running backs average 35.64 inches in the vertical jump and 119.14 inches in the broad jump. There were 12 running backs that finished over the Patriots average in the broad jump and just six who finished above their average in the vertical leap.

12:37 p.m.Jason Spriggs continued his impressive combine with a 115-inch broad jump. Halapoulivaati Vaitai recorded a 113-inch broad jump, Brandon Shell had a 112-inch broad jump and Alex Redmond and Joey Haeg each had 111-inch broad jumps.

Joe Thuney, Cody Whitehair, Connor McGovern, Germain Ifedi, Joe Dahl and Jake Brendel also recorded broad jumps over nine feet.

Alabama running back Derrick Henry just recorded a 37-inch vertical jump at 247 pounds. That’s impressive.

Shell came out lame with what appeared to be a hamstring injury.

Whitehair, who’s 6-foot-4, 301 pounds, completed just 16 bench reps of 225 pounds. That’s very low for an offensive lineman.

Patriots drafted offensive tackles average a 5.27-second 40-yard dash. Patriots drafted interior offensive linemen average a 5.28-second 40-yard dash.

9:23 a.m.: UCLA’s Calen Benenoch ran the first sub-5-second 40-yard dash. He ran a 4.97-second 40 with an impressive 1.68-second 10-yard split.

9:20 a.m.: LSU offensive lineman ran a 5.56-second 40-yard dash with a 1.92-second 10-yard split.

The specialists went first. Iowa kicker Marshall Koehn ran an impressive 4.60-second 40, while Liberty kicker John Lunsford ran a 4.72-second 40.

Baylor long snapper Jimmy Landes ran a 4.98-second 40.

9:15 a.m. ET: Happy 40-yard dash day to the NFL Draft obsessed.
