Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid made his much-anticipated return to the ice Tuesday night and reminded everyone why some called him the best draft prospect since Wayne Gretzky.

The No. 1 pick from the 2015 NHL Draft showed off his amazing offensive talent by splitting a pair of Columbus Blue Jackets players before faking out Joonas Korpisalo with a great deke.

McDavid missed the previous 37 games after suffering a broken collarbone in early November.

He also picked up two assists propel the Oilers to a 5-1 win. McDavid might still contend for the Calder Trophy if he scores at a point-per-game pace the rest of the season. He’s certainly capable given his high-end skill.
