Super Tuesday almost is here, which means Massachusetts residents are preparing to cast their votes in the state’s Republican and Democratic presidential primaries.

One of the state’s most prominent residents, New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, didn’t give an endorsement ahead of the primary, but he did have some very nice things to say about Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump in a statement to The Boston Globe.

“While I am not comfortable discussing politics publicly, I am very comfortable talking about my friendships with people who happen to be in politics,” Kraft told the Globe.

He added: “After my wife (Myra) passed in 2011, (Trump) was one of the few people who went out of their way and went above and beyond to assist me through the most difficult time in my life,” Kraft said. “I will always be grateful to him for his thoughtfulness and his continued friendship.”

Interestingly, records show that Kraft has given a good chunk of change to the Democratic party in recent years.

Kraft isn’t the only Patriot who is friends with the Republican hopeful. New England quarterback Tom Brady prominently displayed one of Trump’s “Make America Great Again” hats in his locker this past season, and their friendship has been highly publicized.

And while Kraft stopped short of an endorsement, Boston Red Sox pitcher Clay Buchholz is on the record stating his support for The Donald.
