BOSTON — Tyler Randell’s month-long absence from the Bruins’ lineup came to an end Tuesday night, and he wasted little time before doing what he does best: dropping the gloves.

The Bruins rookie squared off with Los Angeles Kings winger Kyle Clifford just 2:08 into the teams’ matchup at TD Garden and a mere seven seconds into Randell’s first shift of the night.

Randell, who is tied for the team lead in fights with five despite playing in just 21 games, was the clear victor in his latest bout, dropping Clifford to the ice with a hard right.

Randell had missed the Bruins’ previous 12 games as a healthy scratch.

UPDATE (9:15 p.m. ET): Randell also made an impact with his stick, scoring his fifth goal of the season early in the third period. That goal only cut Boston’s deficit to 7-2, though, so that impact was negligible.
