The 2016 NFL Draft quickly is approaching, and pro days have dominated the discussion over the last week or so as the top prospects are making their final case to be drafted in Round 1.
Let’s take a look at our 2016 NFL Mock Draft V6.
1. Tennessee Titans (3-13): Laremy Tunsil, OT, Ole Miss
2. Cleveland Browns (3-13): Carson Wentz, QB, North Dakota State
3. San Diego Chargers (4-12): Jalen Ramsey, DB, Florida State
4. Dallas Cowboys (4-12): Joey Bosa, DE, Ohio State
5. Jacksonville Jaguars (5-11): Ronnie Stanley, OT, Notre Dame
6. Baltimore Ravens (5-11): DeForest Buckner, DE, Oregon
7. San Francisco 49ers (5-11): Myles Jack, LB, UCLA
A quarterback is the most pressing need for the 49ers, but with Wentz likely off the board at this stage, addressing the defense must be the next priority. San Francisco ranked 27th in passing yards allowed and 29th in rushing yards allowed last season. Jack would provide valuable speed, versatility and work ethic to the 49ers’ defense. His impressive coverage skills would add a much-needed boost to the team’s linebacker corps, too.
8. Philadelphia Eagles (7-9): Jared Goff, QB, California
9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-10): Laquon Treadwell, WR, Ole Miss
10. New York Giants (6-10): Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Ohio State
11. Chicago Bears (6-10): Vernon Hargreaves, CB, Florida
12. New Orleans Saints (7-9): Jarran Reed, DT, Alabama
13. Miami Dolphins (6-10): Shaq Lawson, DE, Clemson
14. Oakland Raiders (7-9): Mackensie Alexander, CB, Clemson
15. Los Angeles Rams (7-9): Kevin Dodd, DE, Clemson
Losing a talented player in defensive end Chris Long hurts the Rams’ defensive line, but they can address this concern by selecting Dodd, who excelled on a very good Clemson defense that propelled the Tigers to the BCS National Championship Game last season.
Dodd was a menacing force in the Tigers’ pass rush, using his speed and array of moves to rack up 12.5 sacks and 62 total tackles. Los Angeles likely will struggle to score points again next season, so it must limit the amount the opponent scores by building on an already-talented defense.
16. Detroit Lions (7-9): Reggie Ragland, LB, Alabama
17. Atlanta Falcons (8-8): A’Shawn Robinson, DT, Alabama
18. Indianapolis Colts (8-8): Andrew Billings, DT, Baylor
The Colts allowed 122 rushing yards per game and 4.3 yards per carry last season, proving the need to upgrade the interior of their defensive line. Billings might be the strongest interior lineman in the draft, but he also has the footwork and quickness to get off blocks and pursue the ball carrier. His upside is very high.
19. Buffalo Bills (8-8): Robert Nkemdiche, DT, Ole Miss
20. New York Jets (10-6): Leonard Floyd, OLB, Georgia
21. Washington Redskins (9-7): Corey Coleman, WR, Baylor
22. Houston Texans (9-7): Jack Conklin, OT, Michigan State
23. Minnesota Vikings (11-5): Tyler Boyd, WR, Pittsburgh
24. Cincinnati Bengals (12-4): Kendall Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech
25. Pittsburgh Steelers (10-6): Vadal Alexander, G, LSU
Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has taken a lot of contact over the last few seasons, which has led to a few injuries. Keeping Big Ben healthy is the main goal for Pittsburgh this season, and beefing up the offensive line would be a good first step.
Alexander was a stud guard for LSU last season, and his massive 6-foot-6, 330-pound frame makes it difficult for defensive tackles to penetrate into the backfield. Experience isn’t an issue with Alexander — he was a four-year starter for LSU.
26. Seattle Seahawks (10-6): Sheldon Rankings, DT, Louisville
27. Green Bay Packers (10-6): Hunter Henry, TE, Arkansas
28. Kansas City Chiefs (11-5): Derrick Henry, RB, Alabama
29. Arizona Cardinals (13-3): Maliek Collins, DT, Nebraska
30. Carolina Panthers (15-1): Darron Lee, OLB, Ohio State
Lee might not fall this far, but could you imagine a linebacker trio of him, Luke Kuechly and Thomas Davis? It would give opposing offensive coordinators nightmares. Lee is an excellent athlete with the pursuit and tackling abilities to chase down running backs and rush the quarterback. He’s an all-around linebacker with a very bright future.
31. Denver Broncos (12-4): Paxton Lynch, QB, Memphis
The New England Patriots lost their first-round pick as NFL punishment over Deflategate.
