If regular-season games had any impact on the NBA’s Slam Dunk Contest, Aaron Gordon would reign supreme.

The Orlando Magic forward threw down another stunning dunk Tuesday in the first quarter of his team’s win over the Brooklyn Nets. Gordon took off from the free throw-line before dunking with authority in the latest addition to his own highlight reel.

Once upon a time, dunks from the free-throw line were reserved for practice and the occasional slam dunk contest. Then again, so were windmill dunks like this one Gordon showcased earlier this season.

“Air” Gordon is just proving the game continues to change … and he probably should have beaten Zach LaVine in this year’s epic slam dunk contest.
