Celtics’ Jared Sullinger Fools Grizzlies With Free Throw ‘Pump Fake’ (Video)

Jared Sullinger overcame a bizarre skin infection, which forced him to miss back-to-back practices, to score 12 points in a little over 21 minutes Wednesday night as the Boston Celtics defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 116-96 at TD Garden.

Two of those points came at the free-throw line, where Sullinger has an interesting wrinkle in his game.

Sullinger threw off the Grizzles in the first quarter when he used a pump fake of sorts before draining a shot from the charity stripe. Two players even stepped over the line before retreating, though it ultimately proved harmless, as no violation was called on the free-throw attempt.

Sullinger apparently has been doing the free-throw line “pump fake” thing for a few months, but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s a unique habit that teams should be aware of moving forward.
