Jared Sullinger briefly was hospitalized this week due to a skin infection, Boston Celtics coach Brad Stevens told the media on Tuesday.

The infection caused Sullinger to miss the team’s last two practices, though he has been released from the hospital.

The C’s take on the visiting Memphis Grizzlies, who are without four starters of their own, on Wednesday at TD Garden. Sullinger hasn’t been ruled out for the game, though.

“Hopefully (he) will be available (against the Grizzlies), but we don’t know that yet,” Stevens said Tuesday, via MassLive.com’s Jay King. “We’ll reassess that (before the game).”

Sullinger has played in 63 of Boston’s 64 games this season, starting 55 of them.
