Chris Long essentially replaced Chandler Jones in the New England Patriots’ defense. So it was fitting the two exchanged tweets regarding the Pats’ recent roster moves.
The Patriots traded Jones to the Arizona Cardinals on Tuesday and signed Long later that same day. Jones took to Twitter on Thursday night to congratulate Long on his one-year contract with the Patriots, which evoked an equally classy response from New England’s new pass rusher.
Jones has been active on social media since the Patriots dealt him to the Cardinals in exchange for guard Jonathan Cooper and a second-round draft pick. The 26-year-old defensive end thanked the Patriots organization and its fans earlier this week for making his time in New England so special.
