The friendship between David Pastrnak and William Nylander goes back to their days playing hockey together in Sweden, but nowadays on the ice, they’re closer to “frenemies” than anything else.

Pastrnak’s Boston Bruins traveled to Toronto to take on Nylander’s Maple Leafs, and the two old friends caught up for dinner Friday night. On the walk home, Pastrnak revealed that Nylander nearly walked into a tree before looking up and avoiding it at the last second. The young Bruins winger joked that he told Nylander he’d better keep his head up on the ice Saturday when the two teams met.

The Boston Globe’s Amalie Benjamin relayed the full story from Toronto during NESN’s “Big Bad Bruins Live.” Check it out in the video above.
