The bad news for the Islanders is that goaltender Jaroslav Halak will miss the remainder of the regular season due to injury. The good news? Backup goalie Thomas Greiss is enjoying the best season of his career.

Greiss already has surpasses his career high in wins with 18, and he’s on pace to set new career-bests with a 2.23 GAA and a .929 save percentage.

It’s been a welcome surprise for the Islanders, who are battling for second place in the Metropolitan Division with the New York Rangers.

NESN’s Dale Arnold and Billy Jaffe took a look across the sheet at the Islanders goalie on “Bruins Face-Off Live.” Check out their analysis in the video above.
